Nice

Yeah man, great lyrics on this one. I'll be looking forward to your next one after you play with some eq, reverb and compression on your vocals. Also I can't wait to hear DKFH Superior.

Nice

Sounds quite good. Kickdrums were a little quiet for my taste, but I'll never stop bitching about peoples kicks, haha. You can write songs really well, and it sounds like you know your shit when it comes to mixing. All around a nice long tune that just needs vocals. When I was listening to it I was thinking some higher pitched, almost black metal vocals would go well with most of this, then on some of the heavier parts it'd go to a lower type of growl.

What was all the gear you used for this? I'm especially curious about the mics you used, unless you went direct, but it sounds like mics to me.

Lashmush responds:

I used a computer, and thats about it. ;D

And concerning the kick, its fixed for future work. Atleast to my liking. And you've picked up the song well, since you've got the vocaltypes set pretty much like I want them, apart from some "growl choir" parts here and there.

Thanks for the review, speedmetalmessiah.

Nice

Very well played man. I really can't find anything to bitch about. I really like the mix and the tone of your guitar and bass were awesome. Hearing this makes me want to jam with you again on msn haha.

Metalcan responds:

Thanks a lot man! Haha yeah we should jam the next time I catch you on msn.

Not bad

The only thing I'm not fond of is the clarity. I'm sure you were going for this sound, but I've just never been a big fan of the noisier recordings. I'd really like to hear something from you that was mixed and recorded with more clarity in mind. Overall though it was a pretty cool song.

Goatchrist responds:

I got some professional equipment recently and if you listen closely, you'll hear a notable difference to my older material.

Thanks for the review

Hmm

Clips a bit, I'm pretty sure it's that lead track that's doing it. Maybe try bringing the volume of it down a bit. Liking the snare though.

Great

Great work with the percussion. Nice and powerful without being annoyingly loud and in your face. The strings dynamics were great and I'm practically drooling on my keyboard from the sound of your choirs. I can't wait to find out how the competition turns out. Good luck man.

DavidOrr responds:

The choir sounds are a handful to work with, but man do they sound great! Thanks for the review!

Awesome

Damn you and your awesome percussion. I'd have to say I think this one is your best submission out of your songs for the MAC. I'm not saying the others aren't great, because they are, I just think this one will fit Castle Crashers the most. Then again I'm always a sucker for driving percussion and powerful strings. You're also using dynamics in your songs a lot more nowadays.

MaestroRage responds:

I used to hate making percussion. It used to be my weakest point XD... now I can't get enough of it >:(!!!

I personally think this is my strongest contender as well. I am thinking of making a version 2 if I have the time, I hope to fix the end, and perhaps put more energy into it!

Dynamics, difficult to master when you have to click each note, but slowly, i'm getting the hang of it!

Thank you for the review speedmetalmessiah! I'm glad you liked it!

Damn

I love that percussion. That's from EW Gold right? I really need to save up some cash. Anyway, back to the song. The strings are quick and powerful which suits the theme quite well. The only part I wasn't completely sold on was the edning. It starts to build up and then it just ends. I know it's supposed to be shorter and loop for the competition, but I really wanted it to keep going. In the end you get a 9/10 and a five. Good luck in the competition.

MaestroRage responds:

I tried to do something with the ending which I guess people did not agree with. Maybe i'll make a version 2 of the song, but not likely.

Yes, this song is made largely of East West Gold. It is worth every penny. If you're going to buy one VST, I would recommend this one!

I DO plan on making an extended version though, full song length!

Thank you for the review Speedmetalmessiah! I'm glad you liked it!

Great

Well you already know I like it quite a bit. Especially those awesome freakin' choirs. Can't really say I'd change anything. I thought the percussion was great and not overpowering. You used the french horns quite well. All around a solid tune with a damn fine chance in the competition. Hopefully it'll take you less than a year for your next submission, hahaha.

Not bad

A little bit thin if you ask me. Could definitely use some more low end and less mids/highs.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Yeah, I have a "fatter" version...But "your mom ate it" hahaha, Just fucking with you, dood. The fatter version, still has some clipping issues that I'm tryin to sort out. I don't really like the new distortion much either. Can't really find a setting I like. And there is WAY too much pissing around with eq to get it to sound alright. Please. Give me some money. I need a reliable distortion. dood...it would benifit us all!!!! hahahahaha.
Thanks for listenin, and leavin a review.\m/
