Not bad

The guitars sound pretty thin though. I think it's the tone you're using. I know you tweak it alot and it usually works out pretty well. This time though it sounds really thin. Either that or you eqed all the lower frequencies out of the guitar tracks after they were recorded. The slow backing sounded pretty sweet over the drums and the solo was pretty cool. Overall it's a decent tune but you need to beef up the guitar tone.

So what is the name of the game? Is it called Battle Trenches?

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Thanks man, Yeah, the guitar tone was eqed alot. I was having alot of trouble, because I wanted the rhythm to be decipherable, rather than muddy like it usually is. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to hear the double picking powers of the badman..hahaha. Yet, its still muddy, and still a little unclear. I did try some tones on guitar rig that sounded really cool, I just haven't received my training from darkside...and couldn't figure out how to remove the "hissing" that accompanies some of the distortions in Guitar Rig. Leaving me with a lot of sound issues. But, this sounded alot better than some of the versions I have. I'll send some to you next time I see you on line. I even tried a WAH over the leads...haha.

Thanks for the review, man!!\m/

Nice

I'm really liking the sound quality of your tunes. The drums don't cut through as well on this track compared to your newest, but they are still pretty fucking good man. You had some nice riffs in here and the bass was even audible. A solo would be pretty cool, but the tune sounds good without one. Great job man keep it up.

Metalized responds:

thx man :D it's really great to hear when someone appreciates one's work!! thx for the review \m/

Man

I still don't get how you're able to throw some riffs together and have it sound so badass. I really liked the intro, and all the riffs in general were pretty fucking cool. That little acoustic things was cool too, you really need to make another tune like Flowing Carpet. Overall man cool tune, and sorry I can't really give you any constructive criticism.

Damn,,,

I haven't seen you around in a while man. Anyway cool fucking tune man. The drums are great what program are you using? Or is it by chance a real drummer? The guitar was played really well, but it sounded a bit thin for my liking. Overall a cool tune man. Glad to see you're back submitting.

Damn

I've missed reviewing a few of your tunes. I've been a lazy bastard with reviewing for a while now. Anyway man the song was fucking awesome. The drums sound great the guitar is perfect the bass isn't that clear though, at least not on my speakers. Badman's vocals are also pretty fucking perfect. I listen to this tune a lot since I burned it to a cd. Great fucking job guys.

Oh yeah did I ever send you the version of this that I messed with?

Nice

Should be a pretty badass theme for whoever you made it for. It'll be awesome to hear it as a full song as well. Make sure you extend that clean intro when you lengthen the tune. There was a bit of static, but other than that great job on this theme.

Xerxes-Sangco responds:

Thanks speedmetalmessiah! Yea I'll try to make this a full song one day and yea you're right, I gotta extend that intro. As for the static, yea I didnt realize it had that til after I submitted it but oh well. Thanks for the review! Glad you liked it! =D

Nice

Well the drums sound pretty damn good I must say. What program are you using for them? The guitar tone could use a bit of work, what Line6 product did you get? The tune was pretty straight-forward and simple, until that solo kicks in anyway. The solo was pretty damn good. You played pretty well throughout the song. Overall it could use some tweaking with the mixing, but it was good man. Hopefully you'll be submitting often.

BazookaZombie responds:

i didn't use the line 6 setup, don't have it yet. the drums were made with garage band, just like the guitar tones. its program that came built into my macbook. i'm gonna re-record all the rhythms when i get the line 6 toneport and then it'll sound killer. the solo was played through the classic dunlop cry-baby. the rhythms are pretty basic because the song is meant to have vocals, i just haven't recorded them yet becuase i don't like hearing myself in recordings. and the solo was all one take and improvised after the intial triplet part, honestly i didn't know i could play like that till after i recorded it.

Nice and heavy

I held off on reviewing until I could come up with some constructive critism for you.

The only problem I have is that the drums aren't that present in the mix. I hear the ride cymbal just fine, but the snare, kick and other cymbals aren't that easy to hear. You should try cutting back the volume of the guitars a bit and then use a multi-band compressor on the final mix to make everything nice and loud.

Your playing of course was great, you had some badass riff in the tune. You also kept it entertaining the whole way through which was nice. The solo was pretty cool as well. Overall it was a badass tune man. I'm just a nitpicking whore hahaha.

DarKsidE555 responds:

Constructive critism is all and I thank you for that man, always there to kick my ass. lol. Anyways, right you are, the kick is my major problem. But there will be a change in the near future. hehe. You'll hear. >:(

Anyways, thanks you nitpicking whore! lol rolf. >: (

Nice

This sounds really great man. The beat was really great and catches your attention quickly. The melody was nice, and overall was pretty damn perfect for the song. It could have used a bit more of diversity though that's more of personal preference. This really sounds great though, what program did you use to make it? Great job on the tune.

Fuck yeah

This sounds awesome man. I'm glad to see you submit another tune. The distortion does sound a bit tighter on this compared to on My Torment. I love the nice slow pace it starts out at then it kicks in to that badass galloping riff. The drums were great, and I actually like the snare you use. The synth parts were simple sounding but they really worked well. Overall this tune was awesome but could sound a bit thicker. It sounds like it could use a nice thick bass. Anyway man great job.

pitchblak responds:

Thanx for the kick ass review man,the distortion does sound alot tighter on this one than on My Torment.I guess i eqd it a little better and also did the whole song with the left and right speaker approach rather than the whole thing centered.I think that has alot to do with it.yeah man,its hard to find a snare in these damn programs that sounds good but i do like this one to.This could use a bass, especially in the slower parts like the intro.well thanx again man, glad ya dig it.Later

If any flash author's want some custom music for their flash just let me know. I'd be more than happy to try and help you out.
