Hmm

The drums are sounding pretty good. The kick is an improvement from your older ones. The snare could use some more attack to it though. Isn't quite aggressive enough. Are these the samples Andy recorded? Anyway man glad to hear that you got a new computer. Maybe now we can talk for the first time in years, haha.

Damn

Honestly this is likely you're best tune production wise. The kicks are a little low, but you know how I am with them. other than that, everything sounds pretty good. The X3 is working out quite well for you it seems. This is the best your tone has ever been. Overall I'm quite impressed with this one. If you need any low backing vocals just let me know. Listening to this makes me want to record vocals again. Well anyway, I'll be looking forward to the final version.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

WOW MAN...A 10!! <3
Why thankin you, sir. I quite like the pod, and all the drums. Its nice to just...play..and not worry if my tone is too muddy to pick up subtle pick techniques etc.. Mastering is easy pleasy too. So it takes all the stress out of recording. And I can finally just PLAY. So now I can unleash some stuff!

The tone is a mix of two different tones, and the control I have over them is wicked. You get similar access to everything, like Guitar Rig...in a way..so I bloody love it.

Also the kick...well..I did drop it a bit, cause it was quite snappy, and WAY better than the standard EZDrummer kicks. It was just odd for me to hear it so much louder...so like a virgin, I went a bit easy on it, the first time. Check back though, I'm gonna up that bitch to its fullness. :D

Thanks for the cool review, speedy. Glad you like it. And uh...yeah..warm up those vocals. :D

Hey!

I didn't know you were at NG. Nice to know some people have come over from Sheezy Art. I Hope you're enjoying the site.

Anyway, I/m still impressed when I listen to this. Your quite the talented keyboardist. You manage to keep time quite well. Honestly the only thing I think I'd change would be bringing the leads up higher in the mix. They sounded a bit quiet to me. Still though, aside from that, I can't really find anything to complain about. It'd be interesting to hear you in a band. Keep up the good work.

Zineb responds:

Hi! Yes I'm enjoying this site indeed. Thanks for the advice! I will apply it next time when I replay this song :)

Wow

This sounds pretty damn impressive so far. I'll definitely be waiting for the full tune. The synth sounds quite good with the sounds of the birds and the overall ambience of the intro. Then with the heavy guitar coming in leading up to the melodic guitars, this should definitely be worth listening to when you finish it. Do you have any idea how long it will be? The only thing I can really suggest is maybe putting a more interesting hi-hat pattern in. With a lot of switching between the open and closed positions. Other than that no real complaints.

Sonofkirk responds:

Wow, thank you a lot Speedy ! My best review so far ! Actually I'm on the recording of it and I think it will be something like 4' or 5', maybe longer maybe shorter. I remade all the drum track and you're right, some Hi hat pattern coulp be awesome.
Anyway thanks for the super review !
You're the best !

What!!!

Andy sampled his drums for you? That's great man. Though I will say there is a bit too much reverb on the kicks. The snare could also use some more attack to it. Honestly though the samples are great. You've got to send them to me since I haven't seen Andy online in ages. Other than those things I've got no complaints about the tune.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

I won't send you those samples. You will have to BEG me.
Or drive your lazy ass up here (8 hrs) and come hang out. There is always fucking beer in the fridge. haha.
Dammit, I forgot, I sent them to you already. Just credit Flame, thats all he asked of me when using them.
Anyways, thanks for the kickass review. I loved the "no other complaints" part. Made my day.

Rock on, my brother.

Not bad

Your tone is sounding pretty good compared to a lot of your older sounds. How did you manage to get a POD X3? I figured your wife would be quite against it. Well anyway man, good luck with future tweaking. Just make sure you don't let your tone get brittle.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

haha, no worries there, man. This was all standard settings. Though, a bit loud on the distortion. Fuck man, there is soo much I can tweak. haha. I had to use my headphones to mix this up...as it was late at night.

And yeah, the wife wouldn't have been pleased, but we re financed our house to include a little extra cash, so we had some "no questions asked" money, left over. I still have some left. :D

Anyways, good to see you out and about.
Thanks as always, bro.

Cool

Sounds pretty decent man. I remember when I heard you were going to remake this one, I got kind of excited, haha. The newer version should be badass when you do it. The new Territory War will be badass. Though I will be a picky whore and mention that I heard some distortion on the mix.

What are you up to these days? I never get a chance to talk to you anymore.

Hahahahaha

It took a second listen to notice that's the drumtrack to Destruction, hahaha. If you wanted it at a slower tempo all you had to do was ask. Anyway, the riffs are cool in this one, but I really liked the mellow beginning. Seriously though, just let me know what tempo you want the drums at and I'd be more than happy to fix them up to go along with the tune better.

Hey!

Seems like it's been ages since I last talked with you. It sounds like you've improved your playing and overall sound even more. Which is pretty impressive.

What drum samples are you using nowadays? It sounds like EZDrummer, but like you tweaked the hell out of it. It also reminds me a bit of Session Drummer 2. At any rate, the drums are sounding great.

The rhythm guitars are nice and chunky without being too bass heavy, and the panning sounds just right. The leads are played really well, as usual when it comes to your tunes. Sounds like you've been practicing a lot. I really don't have a single bad thing to say unfortunately. it all sounds great. Hope to hear some more shit from you man, nice to see you kicking around again.

rocker206 responds:

Hey thanks for your review speedy, yeah it has been awhile lol.
Right now I'm just experimenting with samples I found online, tweaking them and putting them together in reason instead of programming them entirely like i use to do. For this song i actually meshed two completely different drum tracks together which worked surprisingly well I think.
Anyways thanks again and I hope I'll have something ready for this site soon. \m/

Nice

You got those Beatcraft samples to sound fairly decent. Especially the kicks. The ride sounded kind of loud to me, but that's nothing major.

Your playing sounded great as well, though the tone of that little lead thing in the beginning and the end sounded kind of bad. Other than that I have no real complaints about the tune.

If any flash author's want some custom music for their flash just let me know. I'd be more than happy to try and help you out.
