Cool tune

The tune is cool, but the guitars are a bit loud. They really overshadow everything. If you were to pull them back a bit the drums would be a lot easier to hear. Anyway man, I might mess with some vocals for it, I've been wanting to do some gutturals and whatnot lately.

XxCowMeatxX responds:

you think? ill change that right now actually. id love to hear some vox from you. have fun with it.

stay brutal \m/

Cool

It's cool that you posted the backing track. I'll download it and play over it when I get the chance. Any extra information you can give out? Like the key, chord progression etc...? Either way, thanks a lot.

sorohanro responds:

not much of a progression, is just G#minor and E minor
first each chord going one bar, then each chord going half of a bar, then going pam-pam-pam-pam, then outro and good bye ... way too simple to call it a progression
thanx for review
i'm looking forward to hear your version

Nice

Pretty cool sounding man. most of the arpeggios sounded pretty clean, though a couple sounded like they could have been smoother. All in all though it was nice listening to. I also like your kick a lot. I'll have to check out some of your other tunes when I get more time.

sorohanro responds:

thanx man
i need a washing machine to clean my arpegios (and not only)
i think i need to practice more, but after all, i'm a trumpet player usually
most of my stuff here is jazzy with trumpet, but lately i got a new guitar and i'm preety excited about, so i started practice and got some ideeas ...
glad you like it, hope you'll like the rest of my stuff

Nice

Your guitars sound really good man. You using a mic? Or going direct? I also liked how you had the leads as more of a background support. No real complaints or suggestions for this one. Nicely done.

Eternalreich responds:

the guitar is direct i think micing would get a better sound though

Wow

How the fuck di dI miss this one? I really love this tune. You've got some cool riffs in here, especially that first one, it's catchier than hell. I also like the groove that follows. I don't really have any big complaint with the mixing, but there were a few little things. Like that background lead that comes in around 1:00. It kind of made it muddy until it stopped. It probably woul dhave been better to pan that out somewhere, or just have a different eq setting for your leads so that they wouldn't take up as many of the same frequencies as your rhythm. Still though, I really enjoyed it.

XxCowMeatxX responds:

Thanks alot bro! i really love your reviews. there some of the rare helpfull reviews i get. not that i dont like a nice "FUCK THAT WAS GREAT" review but i love help even better.

stay brutal bro \m/

Wow

I must say this is one of Badman's best vocal jobs I've heard to date. The tune itself is well written and pretty catchy. It's all mixed fairly well too. Though the vocals should be a bit louder in this version. All around this is a cool tune.

XxCowMeatxX responds:

Yes... i have to agree with you on that one, and im glad it was my track lol. thanks for all the praise bro btw.

anyways thanks for giving me my first 10th 10 in a row ;D

Damn

Honestly this is likely you're best tune production wise. The kicks are a little low, but you know how I am with them. other than that, everything sounds pretty good. The X3 is working out quite well for you it seems. This is the best your tone has ever been. Overall I'm quite impressed with this one. If you need any low backing vocals just let me know. Listening to this makes me want to record vocals again. Well anyway, I'll be looking forward to the final version.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

WOW MAN...A 10!! <3
Why thankin you, sir. I quite like the pod, and all the drums. Its nice to just...play..and not worry if my tone is too muddy to pick up subtle pick techniques etc.. Mastering is easy pleasy too. So it takes all the stress out of recording. And I can finally just PLAY. So now I can unleash some stuff!

The tone is a mix of two different tones, and the control I have over them is wicked. You get similar access to everything, like Guitar Rig...in a way..so I bloody love it.

Also the kick...well..I did drop it a bit, cause it was quite snappy, and WAY better than the standard EZDrummer kicks. It was just odd for me to hear it so much louder...so like a virgin, I went a bit easy on it, the first time. Check back though, I'm gonna up that bitch to its fullness. :D

Thanks for the cool review, speedy. Glad you like it. And uh...yeah..warm up those vocals. :D

Hey!

I didn't know you were at NG. Nice to know some people have come over from Sheezy Art. I Hope you're enjoying the site.

Anyway, I/m still impressed when I listen to this. Your quite the talented keyboardist. You manage to keep time quite well. Honestly the only thing I think I'd change would be bringing the leads up higher in the mix. They sounded a bit quiet to me. Still though, aside from that, I can't really find anything to complain about. It'd be interesting to hear you in a band. Keep up the good work.

Zineb responds:

Hi! Yes I'm enjoying this site indeed. Thanks for the advice! I will apply it next time when I replay this song :)

Wow

This sounds pretty damn impressive so far. I'll definitely be waiting for the full tune. The synth sounds quite good with the sounds of the birds and the overall ambience of the intro. Then with the heavy guitar coming in leading up to the melodic guitars, this should definitely be worth listening to when you finish it. Do you have any idea how long it will be? The only thing I can really suggest is maybe putting a more interesting hi-hat pattern in. With a lot of switching between the open and closed positions. Other than that no real complaints.

Sonofkirk responds:

Wow, thank you a lot Speedy ! My best review so far ! Actually I'm on the recording of it and I think it will be something like 4' or 5', maybe longer maybe shorter. I remade all the drum track and you're right, some Hi hat pattern coulp be awesome.
Anyway thanks for the super review !
You're the best !

What!!!

Andy sampled his drums for you? That's great man. Though I will say there is a bit too much reverb on the kicks. The snare could also use some more attack to it. Honestly though the samples are great. You've got to send them to me since I haven't seen Andy online in ages. Other than those things I've got no complaints about the tune.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

I won't send you those samples. You will have to BEG me.
Or drive your lazy ass up here (8 hrs) and come hang out. There is always fucking beer in the fridge. haha.
Dammit, I forgot, I sent them to you already. Just credit Flame, thats all he asked of me when using them.
Anyways, thanks for the kickass review. I loved the "no other complaints" part. Made my day.

Rock on, my brother.

If any flash author's want some custom music for their flash just let me know. I'd be more than happy to try and help you out.
